The Role:
As Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management, strategy, and compliance of our accounting and audit function. This is a leadership role that requires accountability, ownership and a growth mindset. Your key role will be leading the Accounting and Accounts Payable teams ensuring accuracy, growth and engagement. You will be our in-house accounting expert who will work alongside our finance team to ensure statutory financial compliance while providing support and direction on technical accounting issues. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the leadership team to identify opportunities for process improvement, continued efficiency, and risk mitigation.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, who listens and leads. You will be process driven and able to juggle a few things at once. Your education and experience should demonstrate sound technical accounting knowledge but you must also be creative and flexible with critical thinking skills.
Reporting directly to the Global SVP of Finance, this is a unique opportunity to grow professionally within a thriving global organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Global SVP of Finance to align overall management, strategy, and compliance of our global audit and accounting function.
- Supervise and lead the accounting team, including accounts payable
- Implement best practices and manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports in accordance with GAAP or applicable financial reporting standards.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the global audit process, including review and approval of financial statements, implementation of new accounting standards and auditor relationship management.
- Perform monthly revolving in-depth reviews of company’s trial balance, statutory budgets, and consolidated budgets.
- Review and assistance with annual control budget process.
- Provide guidance and training to finance team for technical accounting issues.
- Review and research any ad hoc accounting questions and requirements.
- Assist with other projects as required.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field, CPA qualified a plus.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting specific role.
- 3+ years as a successful team manager as well as with experience implementing new processes
- Demonstrate competency in technical skills including a working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Experience with AIFRS and UK GAAP an advantage.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, responsible decision making and self-management.
- Proven project management skills including excellent organization and time management.
- Strong communication skills, including effective communication with people at all levels.
- Ability to provide clear direction, assistance to team members and constructive feedback.
- Highly detail orientated and accurate.
- Flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high quality work.
- Ethical principles and ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Experience with NetSuite Accounting software a plus.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
- This role will require international travel at specific times of the year.
Compensation: 130-140K
