Role Description
To proactively assist with the management of IBISWorld’s global tax function, ensuring alignment to strategy and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Global Tax Manager to assist with the management of the company’s global tax obligations, ensuring alignment with strategy and compliance with regulations.
- Lead in preparation, review, and filing of US corporate income tax returns, estimated tax payments, and extensions.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with various US tax and regulatory obligations.
- Review all monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings – Examples: Sales tax, GST, VAT, WHT, FBT, IAS, PAYE, Payroll Tax.
- Oversee the tracking of tax and compliance requirements, deadlines calendar, and ensure all obligations are met.
- Lead in preparation and review to complete financial audit requirements pertaining to tax.
- Work with the Global Tax Manager and external tax professionals to complete required tax projects.
- Lead in managing intercompany transactions in line with transfer pricing policy
- Handle external tax audit requirements and address tax notices, ensuring timely resolution.
- Ensure tax liabilities and expenses are accurately presented in the company trial balance.
- Effectively work with team members who assist with tax responsibilities, providing adequate assistance, training, and constructive feedback.
- Review and research any ad hoc tax questions and requirements.
- Assist with other projects as required.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a tax-specific role.
- Demonstrate competency in technical skills including a working knowledge of US tax laws and US GAAP.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, responsible decision-making, and self-management.
- Proven project management skills including excellent organization and time management.
- Strong communication skills, including effective communication with people at all levels.
- Ability to provide clear direction, assistance to team members, and constructive feedback.
- Highly detail-oriented and accurate.
- Flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
- Ethical principles and ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with NetSuite Accounting software is a plus.
Compensation: 100-110K
